Entry to Montenegro (visa) for citizens of Uzbekistan
Published

Instructions for citizens of Uzbekistan on obtaining a visa and formalizing their stay in Montenegro — please note: effective October 9, 2025, the previously existing visa-free regime for citizens of Uzbekistan was suspended.
- Checking visa requirements
Citizens of Uzbekistan are required to obtain a visa in advance to enter Montenegro. However, there are exceptions: those with a valid Schengen visa, a US, UK, or Irish visa, or a residence permit in these countries may enter Montenegro without a separate visa for up to 30 days.
- Selecting a visa type
Short-term visa (Type C) — suitable for tourism, meetings, and vacations. It allows a stay of up to 90 days within a 180-day period.
*Long-term visa (Type D) — for those intending to stay longer than 90 days, work, or relocate; applies separately.
- Where to Apply
Since Montenegro does not have a separate embassy in Uzbekistan, visas can be obtained through the nearest Montenegrin diplomatic missions or consulates, or through accredited missions. It is recommended to contact the nearest Montenegrin consular office, or through a consulate in Russia, Serbia, or another accredited state.
- List of Required Documents
When applying for a visa, the following documents are required:
- A passport valid for at least three months beyond the intended departure date.
- A completed visa application form on official letterhead.
- Confirmation of accommodation or travel itinerary reservation.
- Proof of sufficient funds for the duration of your stay.
- A return ticket or confirmation of departure from the country.
- In some cases, an invitation from the host or tour operator.
- Processing Time
A visa issuance decision is usually made within 10 business days of application submission. In some cases, this period may be extended to 30 or 60 days.
- Considerations when applying from Uzbekistan
Please note that the visa situation can change quickly, as was the case with the temporary visa-free regime for citizens of Uzbekistan.
If there is no Montenegrin consulate in Tashkent, you may need to travel or send your documents through an accredited office in the region.
Be sure to check the current visa regulations on the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro before applying.
